Introduction

BCB Solutions, a leading company specialising in Routine Road Maintenance (RRM) and Road Construction
, invites suitably qualified and experienced Construction Health and Safety Manager (CHSM)to submit their applications for inclusion in our database for current and future high value infrastructure projects across South Africa.

Successful candidates will be considered for appointment should BCB Solutions successfully acquire any relevant works.

• Implement and Maintaining the Health and Safety Management Systems on all sites
• Audit health and safety files and do site inspections
• Facilitateclient audits
• Ensure that all accidents and incidents are properly recorded, reported and investigated and corrective and preventative measures are implemented
• Developing/Approving of Safety Files
• Induction of sub-contractors
• Ensuring general OHS compliance as per OHS Act
• Facilitating emergency preparedness and evacuation drills
• Adapt OHS-related documents to be client-specific
• Enforce risk identification, evaluation and development of safe work procedures
• Conduct or arrange a risk and hazard assessment and implement the necessary corrective actions to mitigate hazards and risks
• Ensure all site-related trainings and toolbox talks are conducted
• monthly site and committee meetings attendance
• Extensive travelling to different site will be required

• Health and Safety National Diploma (NQF Level
  6) or higher degree;
• Experience in SANRAL Projects (Road Construction and/or RRM), with a maximum of 4 projects which have a construction value of R80 million or more (inclusive of VAT);
• Active professional registration as a Construction Health and Safety Officer (CHSO) with SACPMP Non-negotiable.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License
• Excellent writing skills
• Proficient in Excel, word, and outlook (Microsoft Office)
• Excellent communication & people skills (Assertiveness)
• Efficiency & Accuracy
• Pro-active & ability to work independently
• Loyalty

Market related Remuneration

BCB Solutions appoints on a project basis. Roles are linked to specific client contracts and are filled as those contracts are confirmed, so engagement is contingent by nature; neither continuous work nor permanent employment is offered or implied. Appointment to any project depends on the contract proceeding, the requirement of that project, and operational needs at the time.
