Senior Construction Estimator

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and experienced Senior Construction Estimator to join their team in Pretoria . You will be responsible for accurately analyzing project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates for a wide range of construction projects. This role is vital to the bidding process, requiring a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of construction costs and market trends.

You will work closely with project managers, procurement teams, and clients to ensure competitive and accurate bids, contributing significantly to the company's growth and success.

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and other tender documents.
• Quantify materials, labor, and equipment required for projects, ensuring all potential costs are identified and accounted for.
• Solicit, review, and analyze bids from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring competitive pricing and adherence to project requirements.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to facilitate accurate and timely estimating.
• Collaborate with project management teams to refine estimates, provide cost-saving recommendations, and support bid presentations.
• Stay current with construction industry trends, material costs, and labor rates to ensure estimates remain competitive and realistic.

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Construction Estimator , with a strong portfolio of successfully estimated projects.
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., CostX, Plan Swift, Sage Estimating) and Microsoft Excel.
• Solid understanding of construction processes, materials, and building codes.
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
