Our client is seeking a technically proficient and experienced Senior Architectural Technologist to join their esteemed practice in Pretoria . This role is integral to translating architectural designs into buildable solutions, focusing on technical detailing, specifications, and construction documentation. You will work closely with architects and project managers to ensure the technical feasibility and quality of designs. This position requires a keen eye for detail, a deep understanding of construction technology, and the ability to contribute effectively in a hybrid work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop detailed technical drawings, specifications, and construction documentation for architectural projects.
- Ensure designs comply with national building regulations, standards, and energy efficiency requirements.
- Liaise with consultants, contractors, and suppliers to resolve technical queries during the construction phase.
- Conduct site inspections to verify construction quality and adherence to technical specifications.
- Research and recommend appropriate building materials and construction systems.
- Collaborate with architects on design development, providing technical expertise and solutions.
- National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Architectural Technology or a related field.
- Professional registration with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP) as a Technologist.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in architectural technology and construction documentation.
- Advanced proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and related modeling tools.
- Strong knowledge of South African building codes, standards, and construction practices.
- Excellent technical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
