The Junior Interior Designer will support the design and planning of retail, commercial, and industrial spaces, ensuring that shelving, racking, and display products are effectively integrated into store layouts. This is a contract, on-site role based in Pretoria, working closely with senior designers, project managers, and sales teams to translate client requirements into practical, detailed design concepts. Day-to-day tasks include assisting with space planning, preparing construction and layout drawings, selecting and coordinating finishes and fixtures, and participating in site visits and measurements.

The role involves preparing presentation materials, updating design documentation, liaising with suppliers, and ensuring that designs align with safety, functionality, and brand standards. The Junior Interior Designer is expected to contribute to multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and maintain clear communication with internal teams and clients.

• Demonstrated ability in Interior Design, including developing concepts and layouts for retail, commercial, or industrial spaces.
• Skills in Space Planning to optimize customer flow, product visibility, and operational efficiency.
• Knowledge of Architecture and Construction Drawings for translating design concepts into accurate technical documentation.
• Experience or familiarity with FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment) selection and coordination relevant to shelving, racking, and display solutions.
• Proficiency in design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch Up, or similar) and basic MS Office skills.
• Relevant diploma or degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a closely related field.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with a willingness to learn from senior team members and work on-site in Pretoria.
• Understanding of retail or warehouse environments and basic knowledge of building regulations and safety standards is an advantage.
