Learner Reactor Operator

Date: 14-5-2024 Training Phases

The incumbent will undergo different Phases of training as a learner reactor operator at the SAFARI-1 Research Reactor. The incumbent will perform routine tasks under supervision and will undergo extensive theoretical and practical training.

• Complete Phase I training within 6 to 9 months; thereafter be appointed as a Plant Operator and begin Phase II training.
• Complete Phase II training over a period of 12 months; upon successful completion be appointed as a Licensed Reactor Operator if a vacant position is available.
• Maintain routine tasks and special tasks related to the control and selective maintenance of the Research Reactor and experiments under direct responsibility to the Duty Shift Supervisor.
• Perform routine tasks with supervision during Phase I and with reduced supervision during Phase II.
