Position: Technical Lead – Aerospace & Defence
Location: Gauteng,Pretoria
Type: Permanent / Full-time

We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead to drive the delivery of advanced product development projects within the Aerospace and Defence sector. This role combines hands-on technical depth with leadership and project management, making it ideal for an engineer who excels in multidisciplinary, high-stakes environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead complex product development projects from concept to qualification and handover.

  • Serve as the primary technical authority, ensuring technical integrity, system performance, and compliance with defence and aerospace standards.

  • Coordinate and guide cross-functional teams across RF, electronics, mechanical, and firmware disciplines.

  • Manage project scope, budget, and schedules in collaboration with the Project Management Office.

  • Conduct design reviews, trade-off studies, and system verification activities.

  • Engage with clients, suppliers, and test houses to ensure alignment on technical requirements and deliverables.

  • Drive adherence to engineering processes, documentation standards, and continuous improvement practices.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronic, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering (or related discipline).

  • 5+ years’ experience in product development, including at least 2 years in a technical or project leadership role.

  • Proven track record in aerospace or defence engineering projects involving RF, antenna systems, or complex electronic/mechanical integration.

  • Strong knowledge of systems engineering, requirements management, and verification & validation.

  • Familiarity with industry standards such as MIL-STD-810, STANAG, EMC, and safety regulations.

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Power Point .
