Surveying Technician; Early Career

Botes Land Surveys is a team of experienced Professional Land & Engineering Surveyors based in Pretoria. We specialise in construction setting out, as-built surveys, cadastral surveys, civil setting out and topographical surveys, with a strong emphasis on accuracy in high-rise and precision-driven developments. Our reputation is built on the integrity of our measurements.

We are looking for a early-career Survey Technician to join our team. This is a full-time position (subject to a probation period). The role includes construction setting out, civil setting out, topographical surveys, cadastral surveying, GPS surveys, total station work and building surveys. You will be responsible for ensuring that measurements are accurate and within the specifications provided by the client.

• Proven experience in construction / engineering surveying (setting out & as-builts)
• Competent with GNSS and Total Station workflows
• Ability to work accurately, efficiently and under pressure
• Strong attention to detail
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in Model Maker.
• Strong communication skills (you must be willing to ask questions and clarify the brief when needed)
• Strong numerical ability and basic mental arithmetic is essential (you must be able to sanity-check measurements and calculations without relying entirely on a calculator)

Minimum requirement: National Diploma in Surveying

Experience: Minimum 3 years construction / engineering surveying experience. Junior-to-mid role, must be able to operate independently, but still developing professionally.

If you are not comfortable asking for help, clarifying unclear instructions, or communicating errors early, then this position will not be a good fit.

Short practical skills test may be required during the interview process.
