Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for manufacturing process optimization, equipment integration, industrialization activities, automation improvement, problem-solving, and technical leadership to ensure safe, stable, and efficient production operations.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing process ownership:
Lead manufacturing process development and optimization
Improve productivity, quality, and cost performance
Develop and maintain standard work instructions and process standards
Root cause analysis & problem solving
Lead RCA activities for major production losses, quality issues, and equipment-related failures
Apply structured methodologies: 5 Why, Fishbone, A3, PFMEA
Ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented and sustained
Automation & Control system support
Support PLC-based manufacturing systems
Troubleshoot production equipment together
Drive reduction of supplier dependency
Equipment industrialization & Launch support
Lead manufacturing readiness activities for new equipment and process changes
Coordinate suppliers during installation, commissioning, and buy-off
Support Run@Rate, capability studies, and process validation
Manufacturing data analysis
Analyse production and engineering KPIs: MTTR, MTBF, Downtime, Scrap, FTT
Identify trends and propose improvement actions
Technical leadership
Coach manufacturing engineers and technicians
Develop troubleshooting guides and engineering standards
Build internal technical capability
Supplier technical management
Challenge supplier on technical solutions
Follow up technical actions and SLA commitments
Drive sustainable solutions instead of temporary fixes

Preferred skills

8+ years manufacturing engineer experience
Automotive industry experience
PLC troubleshooting experience
Strong RCA capability
Data analysis skills

What success looks like (first 12 months)

Reduce supplier dependency by at least 30%
Improve MTTR performance
Support stable BMW production

The position is expected to act as the technical leader of the Engineering Department, enabling the Engineering manager to focus on strategic planning, operational excellence, and cross-functional business support.
