Electronics Design Engineer – Power Electronics & Bms

A growing technology and renewable-energy business is looking for an Electronics Design Engineer to join its technical team. This role focuses on the design and development of electronic hardware, PCB development, Battery Management Systems (BMS) and DC-DC power conversion, taking products from concept through testing, validation and production.

• Design and develop multilayer PCBs for BMS and power-conversion products.
• Develop analog, digital and mixed-signal electronic systems.
• Design DC-DC converters, including buck, boost, flyback, forward and bridge topologies.
• Perform power-stage calculations, magnetic component selection, thermal analysis and efficiency optimisation.
• Develop BMS hardware for battery monitoring, protection, balancing and communication.
• Design circuits for cell voltage, current and temperature monitoring.
• Develop testing and validation procedures and conduct prototype testing.
• Perform fault-finding, debugging and root-cause investigations.
• Support products through prototype, manufacturing and production release.
• Work closely with firmware, mechanical and electrical engineering teams.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in electronic product development.
• Proven experience designing and testing complex PCB assemblies.
• Experience with DC-DC power converter design.
• Experience with BMS, battery energy storage or renewable-energy products.
• Experience taking products from concept through to production release.
• Strong experience with Altium Designer or Mentor Graphics/PADS.
• Solid knowledge of SMPS, power semiconductors, magnetics, thermal management and EMI/EMC.
• Strong analogue, digital and mixed-signal circuit design capabilities.
• Experience using oscilloscopes, logic analysers, power analysers and electronic loads.
