Mechanical Draughtsperson

Introduction:

Our client, a leading multidisciplinary built environment consultancy, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Draughtsperson to join their Mechanical Engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically skilled draughtsperson to work on a variety of Building Services projects while collaborating with experienced professionals across multiple disciplines.

• Prepare mechanical services drawings and layouts for HVAC, Wet Services, Medical Gas, Fire Protection and related services.
• Develop detailed 3D models and section details.
• Create and manage Revit families.
• Prepare technical equipment schedules.
• Assist with bill of quantities imports and exports.
• Coordinate 3D models and drawings with architects and other engineering disciplines.
• Participate in BIM-based collaboration and coordination.
• Assist with construction progress inspections and site meetings.

• Relevant Draughting qualification.
• Matric certificate.
• Revit and AutoCAD certificates.
• BTech or National Diploma will be advantageous.
• Minimum 3 years’ relevant mechanical draughting experience.

• Practical experience within Building Services / MEP.
• Experience with HVAC, Wet Services, Medical Gas and Fire Protection systems.
• Strong proficiency in Revit MEP and AutoCAD.
• Practical experience in mechanical 3D modelling.
• Experience coordinating mechanical services drawings with architectural and engineering disciplines.
• Exposure to BIM-based project environments will be advantageous.

• Advanced Revit MEP and AutoCAD skills.
• Strong mechanical 3D modelling abilities.
• Good understanding of Building Services and MEP systems.
• Strong technical drawing and documentation skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary consulting environment.
