Senior Process Engineer - Design and Projects

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Process Engineer to lead critical design and project execution initiatives from their offices in Pretoria. This role focuses on the conceptualization, design, and implementation of complex chemical engineering projects, ensuring they meet technical specifications, budget constraints, and timelines. You will collaborate with internal engineering teams, external consultants, and key stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions.

This hybrid position offers a dynamic work environment, combining focused in-office collaboration with the flexibility to manage aspects of your work remotely, driving forward major capital projects for our organization.

• Lead the conceptual and detailed design of chemical processes for new facilities and expansions.
• Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment specifications.
• Manage project scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring successful project delivery from initiation to close-out.
• Conduct technical reviews and risk assessments for engineering designs and project proposals.
• Coordinate with procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams and operations personnel.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in process design, project engineering, and management within the chemical industry.
• Proven track record of managing complex capital projects from concept to completion.
• Expertise in process simulation, HAZOP studies, and risk management methodologies.
• Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setting, contributing to team objectives both on-site in Pretoria and remotely.
