RF Planning Engineer

About the Role

Our client, a prominent player in the mobile telecommunications sector, is seeking an adept RF Planning Engineer to enhance their network operations in Pretoria . This role is central to optimizing the performance and coverage of our client's wireless networks. You will be responsible for designing, planning, and optimizing radio frequency (RF) networks, ensuring high-quality service delivery to subscribers. • Perform RF site surveys, drive tests, and network data analysis to identify coverage gaps and interference issues.
• Design and plan new cellular sites (2G, 3G, 4G, 5G) and network upgrades using specialized RF planning tools.
• Optimize existing RF network parameters to improve signal quality, capacity, and user experience.
• Develop propagation models and conduct interference analysis.
• Collaborate with network deployment and operations teams to ensure timely and accurate implementation of network plans.
• Generate regular reports on network performance, coverage, and optimization activities in Pretoria.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in RF planning and optimization for mobile networks.
• Proficiency with RF planning software such as Atoll, Planet, or TEMS Investigation.
• Strong understanding of radio propagation principles, antenna theory, and cellular network technologies.
• Experience with LTE and 5G network planning is essential.
