About the Role
Our client, a leader in environmental solutions based in Pretoria , is seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Engineer specializing in water and wastewater treatment. This role involves the design, optimization, and operational support of advanced water treatment facilities. You will be responsible for ensuring efficient and compliant operations, developing innovative treatment strategies, and managing complex projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in various water treatment technologies and a passion for sustainable environmental practices, contributing to critical infrastructure development in Gauteng .
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design and engineering of water and wastewater treatment processes, including clarification, filtration, disinfection, and membrane technologies.
- Optimize existing treatment plant operations to improve performance, reduce chemical usage, and minimize energy consumption.
- Conduct treatability studies, pilot testing, and data analysis to evaluate and recommend process modifications.
- Prepare detailed process design documents, including P&IDs, equipment specifications, and operational manuals.
- Provide technical support to plant operations teams and troubleshoot complex operational challenges.
- Ensure all processes comply with national and international environmental regulations and standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in the design and operation of water and wastewater treatment plants.
- In-depth knowledge of various treatment technologies such as RO, UF, ion exchange, and advanced oxidation processes.
- Proficiency in process simulation software and hydraulic modeling.
- Strong understanding of water chemistry and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent project management, communication, and problem-solving skills for projects in Pretoria .
