About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Avionics Technician to join their prestigious maintenance facility in Pretoria . This role is crucial for maintaining the complex electronic systems and navigation equipment on a variety of aircraft. You will be responsible for the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of avionics systems, ensuring they meet stringent safety and performance standards.

As a senior member of the team, you will also have opportunities to mentor junior technicians and contribute to process improvements within the avionics department in Pretoria .

Key Responsibilities

Install, inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair aircraft avionics systems, including navigation, communication, autopilot, and instrument systems.
Interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics to diagnose and resolve complex avionics issues.
Perform system upgrades and modifications as required by engineering or regulatory changes.
Ensure all work performed complies with approved maintenance data, regulations, and company policies.
Utilize specialized test equipment and diagnostic tools to verify system functionality and performance.
Mentor and guide junior technicians, providing technical assistance and ensuring quality workmanship.

Requirements

Proven experience as an Avionics Technician , with at least 5 years in an aircraft maintenance environment.
Strong understanding of aircraft electrical systems, digital electronics, and avionics principles .
Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex technical documentation and schematics.
Experience with various aircraft types and their respective avionics suites is highly desirable.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to safety and quality in Pretoria .
Relevant trade qualification or certification in Avionics or Electronics.
