Junior Civil Engineer - Municipal Services

About the Role

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Junior Civil Engineer to join their team focused on municipal services in Durban . This role involves supporting senior engineers in the design, planning, and implementation of essential public works projects, including water reticulation, stormwater management, and road infrastructure. You will gain hands‑on experience in a collaborative office environment, contributing to the development and maintenance of critical community infrastructure.

• Assist in the design and preparation of drawings and specifications for water, sewer, and stormwater systems.
• Support the preparation of project cost estimates and tender documentation.
• Conduct site visits and assist in the supervision of construction activities for municipal projects.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and analysis under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Maintain project records and assist with contract administration tasks.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders on project matters.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 0-3 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably with exposure to municipal services.
• Basic understanding of municipal infrastructure design principles.
• Familiarity with relevant software like AutoCAD and Civil 3D is advantageous.
• Strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for working within a team in Durban .
