Senior Reservoir Engineer - Asset Management

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly analytical Senior Reservoir Engineer to play a key role in managing and optimizing oil and gas assets from their Pretoria office. This hybrid role involves detailed reservoir characterization, performance analysis, and the development of long-term production strategies. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to maximize hydrocarbon recovery and ensure the economic viability of mature and developing fields.

• Perform comprehensive reservoir characterization using geological, geophysical, and well log data.
• Develop and calibrate reservoir simulation models to forecast production and evaluate development scenarios.
• Analyze production data, identify decline drivers, and propose enhancement strategies such as EOR (Enhanced Oil Recovery).
• Manage economic evaluations for field development and production optimization projects.
• Collaborate with drilling, completions, and production engineers to implement field development plans effectively.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings to asset teams and senior management.

• Master's degree or PhD in Petroleum Engineering or a related technical field.
• At least 8 years of progressive experience in reservoir engineering within the Oil & Gas sector.
• Expertise in reservoir simulation software (e.g., CMG, Schlumberger ECLIPSE) and data analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of reservoir fluid properties, rock mechanics, and EOR processes.
• Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities.
