About the Role
Our client is looking for a forward-thinking Industrial Engineer with a specialization in Automation to join their advanced manufacturing operations based in Pretoria . This role is critical for designing, implementing, and optimizing automated systems to enhance production efficiency, safety, and scalability. You will be at the forefront of integrating new technologies into existing processes, driving innovation within their industrial footprint.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in robotics, PLC programming, and automated system design, contributing to a cutting-edge manufacturing environment.
- Design, develop, and implement automated manufacturing systems, including robotic cells, conveyor systems, and automated guided vehicles (AGVs).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate automation solutions into existing production lines, ensuring minimal disruption.
- Develop and maintain PLC code for automated machinery and troubleshoot issues with automated systems.
- Conduct feasibility studies and ROI analyses for proposed automation projects.
- Create detailed documentation for automated systems, including electrical schematics, operational manuals, and maintenance procedures.
- Stay abreast of emerging automation technologies and assess their applicability to improve operations in Pretoria .
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on automation.
- 5+ years of experience in industrial engineering with a significant focus on automation and robotics.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and robotic programming (e.g., Fanuc, KUKA).
- Experience with HMI development, SCADA systems, and machine vision technology.
- Strong understanding of industrial networks and control systems integration.
