Field Service Engineer - Automation

Our client is seeking a dynamic Field Service Engineer specializing in Automation Systems to join their team in Pretoria . This role is critical for providing on-site technical support, installation, and maintenance for advanced automation equipment used by industrial clients. You will be the primary technical point of contact, resolving complex issues and ensuring the seamless operation of automated processes. The ideal candidate is an technically adept professional with a passion for automation technology and a strong ability to troubleshoot and repair sophisticated systems in the demanding environment of Gauteng .

• Install, commission, and service automation equipment and control systems at client sites.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to PLC, HMI, robotics, and other automation components.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance and system upgrades to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Provide technical training and support to client personnel on equipment operation and maintenance.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to provide feedback for product improvement and development.
• Maintain accurate service reports, including all actions taken and recommendations for future service.

• Bachelor's degree or National Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in field service or technical support for automation systems.
• Strong knowledge of PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley), robotics, and industrial networking.
• Ability to interpret complex electrical and mechanical schematics and documentation.
• Valid South African driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within Pretoria and surrounding areas.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills, with a problem-solving mindset.
