Mechanical Engineer - Product Development

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join their product development team in Pretoria . This role is crucial in translating innovative ideas into tangible, market-ready products. You will be involved in the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept and design through to prototyping, testing, and manufacturing support. Working within a vibrant, on-site team, you will contribute to the creation of cutting-edge solutions in a hands-on environment.

• Design and develop new mechanical products and components, ensuring functionality, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and specifications using CAD software.
• Conduct design validation through simulations (e.g., FEA, CFD) and physical testing.
• Collaborate closely with industrial designers, electrical engineers, and manufacturing teams to refine product designs.
• Build and test prototypes, troubleshooting issues and iterating on designs to meet project requirements.
• Prepare technical documentation for product release and support manufacturing processes.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in product development and mechanical design.
• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, Inventor) and an understanding of simulation tools.
• Familiarity with various manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, CNC machining).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
