Senior Project Engineer - Manufacturing

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly experienced Senior Project Engineer to manage and oversee complex manufacturing projects in their Pretoria facility. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in mechanical engineering and project management, adept at leading teams from project inception to successful completion. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget, including acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors.

This is a critical position that directly impacts operational efficiency and the successful rollout of new manufacturing capabilities for our client.

• Plan, execute, and close manufacturing projects, defining scope, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.
• Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure projects are completed within financial constraints.
• Coordinate and lead cross-functional project teams, including engineers, technicians, and external suppliers.
• Identify and manage project risks, developing contingency plans to mitigate potential issues.
• Ensure all projects adhere to quality standards, safety regulations, and operational best practices.
• Communicate project progress, updates, and challenges effectively to senior management and stakeholders.

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in project management within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex engineering projects on time and within budget.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes , automation, and industrial engineering principles.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
