Principal Process Engineer

About the Role

Our client seeks a highly experienced Principal Process Engineer to join their operations in Pretoria . This senior role is pivotal in designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex process systems within the Oil & Gas industry. You will lead process engineering initiatives, provide technical guidance, and ensure the safe, efficient, and environmentally sound operation of processing facilities. Your expertise will be crucial in driving innovation and maintaining the highest standards of engineering excellence for critical infrastructure.

• Lead the design and development of process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
• Perform process simulations and calculations for equipment sizing and performance optimization.
• Conduct hazard and operability (HAZOP) studies and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Provide technical oversight and mentoring to junior process engineers.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and develop solutions to improve plant efficiency and reliability.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in process engineering, with a significant focus on the Oil & Gas sector.
• In-depth knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer principles.
• Experience with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II).
• Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills.
