Senior Reservoir Engineer - Gas Production

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Reservoir Engineer to join their exploration and production team in Pretoria , focusing on natural gas development. This role is crucial for optimizing hydrocarbon recovery from existing and new reservoirs, utilizing advanced modeling and analytical techniques. You will be responsible for reservoir characterization, performance forecasting, and developing strategies to maximize economic recovery. This position requires a deep understanding of reservoir physics, fluid flow in porous media, and production optimization, contributing significantly to the company's energy production goals.

• Develop and maintain detailed reservoir simulation models for gas and oil fields.
• Analyze well performance data, production trends, and pressure transient tests to understand reservoir behavior.
• Perform material balance calculations and volumetrics estimations for hydrocarbon reserves.
• Develop and implement optimized production and injection strategies to maximize recovery.
• Conduct economic evaluations for field development plans and infill drilling opportunities.
• Collaborate with geologists, production engineers, and management to provide reservoir insights and recommendations.

• Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in reservoir engineering, with a strong focus on natural gas reservoirs .
• Proficiency in reservoir simulation software (e.g., ECLIPSE, Petrel RE) and data analysis tools.
• Solid understanding of reservoir characterization techniques, fluid properties, and enhanced oil/gas recovery methods.
• Experience with decline curve analysis, type curves, and production forecasting.
