Senior Aviation Safety Officer

Our client is looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Aviation Safety Officer to champion and manage safety management systems for their operations in Pretoria . This senior position involves developing, implementing, and overseeing safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with aviation regulations and industry best practices. You will play a crucial role in fostering a strong safety culture across the organization, conducting audits, investigations, and risk assessments.

• Develop, implement, and maintain the organization's Safety Management System (SMS) .
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments of operational activities.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs to all levels of staff.
• Monitor aviation safety regulations and ensure organizational compliance.
• Promote a positive safety culture and provide guidance on safety matters to management and staff.

• Recognized qualification in Aviation Safety Management or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in aviation safety management.
• Thorough knowledge of ICAO Annex 19, Safety Management Systems , and relevant national aviation regulations.
• Experience in conducting safety audits and incident investigations.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
• Ability to lead and influence change within a complex organization in Pretoria .
