Water Resources Engineer - Municipal Systems

Our client is looking for a dedicated Water Resources Engineer to join their public sector consulting team in Pretoria . This role is central to the planning, design, and management of essential water and wastewater infrastructure for municipal clients across Gauteng. You will play a crucial part in developing sustainable solutions for water supply, stormwater management, and wastewater treatment, addressing the growing needs of the region.

• Design and develop systems for water supply, distribution, wastewater collection, and treatment.
• Conduct hydrological studies, hydraulic modeling, and flood risk assessments for urban and rural catchments.
• Prepare feasibility studies, environmental impact assessments, and technical reports for water infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with municipal authorities, regulatory agencies, and other consultants to ensure project compliance and success.
• Oversee the construction and commissioning of water and wastewater treatment plants and associated infrastructure.
• Develop strategies for water conservation, reuse, and sustainable management of water resources.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources.
• A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in water resources engineering, particularly in municipal infrastructure.
• Professional Engineer (PrEng) registration with ECSA is required.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., EPANET, SWMM) and GIS.
• Strong understanding of water quality, treatment processes, and environmental regulations in South Africa .
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
