Our client is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Automotive Performance Engineer to join their innovative research and development team in Pretoria. This role involves optimizing vehicle performance through advanced engineering techniques, focusing on areas such as engine tuning, drivetrain efficiency, and chassis dynamics. You will be instrumental in developing and testing cutting-edge performance enhancements for a range of vehicles.

- Design, develop, and implement performance tuning strategies for vehicle powertrains and electronic control units (ECUs).
- Conduct rigorous testing and validation of performance modifications, including dyno testing, track testing, and real-world driving assessments.
- Analyze performance data to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven recommendations for optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and software development, to ensure seamless integration of performance enhancements.
- Research and evaluate new technologies and methodologies to improve vehicle performance, efficiency, and driving dynamics.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and documentation on research findings and development progress.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in automotive performance engineering, with a focus on engine management systems and powertrain development.
- Strong knowledge of internal combustion engines, drivetrain systems, suspension, and vehicle dynamics.
- Proficiency in using performance tuning software, data acquisition systems, and simulation tools.
- Experience with dyno operation and interpretation of test results is essential.
