Plant Operations Engineer

Our client is looking for a highly skilled Plant Operations Engineer to manage and optimize the engineering functions within their manufacturing facility in Pretoria . This role is critical for ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of all plant machinery and infrastructure. You will lead a team of technicians and engineers, focusing on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting complex issues, and implementing upgrades to enhance operational performance and longevity.

This position demands a proactive approach to maintenance and a strong understanding of industrial engineering principles.

• Oversee the maintenance, repair, and operation of all plant equipment and systems.
• Develop and execute comprehensive preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and process-related issues.
• Manage engineering projects, including installations, upgrades, and process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Lead and mentor the engineering and maintenance teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence and safety.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in plant operations engineering, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong knowledge of industrial machinery, automation, and control systems.
• Proven experience in project management and implementing process improvements.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
• Experience working in the Pretoria industrial area is advantageous.
