Project Engineer - Structural & Mechanical Systems

Our client is seeking a results-oriented Project Engineer to manage and oversee the execution of diverse engineering projects in Pretoria . This role is critical for ensuring the successful delivery of projects involving complex structural and mechanical systems, from initial planning through to final commissioning. You will coordinate with internal teams, external contractors, and stakeholders to achieve project objectives, adhering strictly to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with a strong background in project management and a deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles within large-scale operations.

• Plan, execute, and monitor engineering projects, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
• Coordinate engineering activities, including design reviews, resource allocation, and risk management.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to ensure project compliance and stakeholder satisfaction.
• Oversee the procurement and installation of mechanical and structural components and equipment.
• Conduct site inspections and ensure that all work meets safety regulations and quality standards.
• Prepare comprehensive project reports, progress updates, and financial forecasts.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering with a strong mechanical focus.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in project engineering or project management.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex structural and mechanical engineering projects.
• Strong knowledge of project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and methodologies.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration is highly advantageous.
