Structural Engineering Specialist

Our client, a prestigious engineering firm renowned for its innovative structural solutions, is seeking a dedicated Structural Engineering Specialist to join their established office in Centurion, Gauteng
. This role is critical for overseeing the structural integrity and design aspects of large-scale construction projects, ranging from high-rise buildings to complex industrial facilities. You will be the technical authority on structural matters, ensuring all designs meet rigorous safety, performance, and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of material science, structural analysis, and construction methodologies. This position requires a hands‑on approach, involving close collaboration with architects, project managers, and construction teams on‑site.

• Lead the structural design for various building and infrastructure projects.
• Perform advanced structural analysis using sophisticated software tools.
• Develop and review structural drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Ensure designs comply with the National Building Regulations and relevant South African standards.
• Liaise with clients, architects, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct site inspections and provide structural engineering support during construction.
• Assess existing structures and provide recommendations for rehabilitation or strengthening.
• Mentor and guide junior structural engineers and technicians.
• Stay abreast of new technologies and methodologies in structural engineering.
• Manage structural engineering aspects of multiple projects concurrently.

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience specifically in structural engineering design and analysis.
• Extensive experience with structural analysis and design software (e.g., SAP
  2000, ETABS, SAFE, Revit Structure).
• In-depth knowledge of concrete, steel, timber, and masonry design principles.
• Proven experience in managing structural engineering components of large construction projects.
• Strong understanding of construction practices and site supervision.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
• Ability to lead technical discussions and resolve complex structural challenges.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Centurion, Gauteng
