Civil Design Engineer

Our client, a prominent consulting engineering firm focused on transportation infrastructure, is seeking a dedicated Civil Design Engineer to join their team in Pretoria, Gauteng . This role is crucial for the planning, design, and implementation of various road and transport infrastructure projects across the region. You will be responsible for developing technical solutions, preparing design documentation, and ensuring projects meet required standards and client expectations.

• Design and development of road infrastructure, including geometric design, pavement design, and drainage systems.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, plans, sections, and specifications using relevant software.
• Conduct traffic analysis and impact studies.
• Undertake quantity surveying and cost estimation for proposed works.
• Ensure compliance with national and provincial road design standards and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, other disciplines, and external stakeholders.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documents and technical reports.
• Review designs and calculations for accuracy and completeness.

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Candidate Engineer or Professional Engineer is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil road design and infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in civil design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or MX Roads.
• Experience with traffic modelling software is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of South African road design standards (e.g., COTO).
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment and manage workload independently.
