Portfolio Manager:
General Description We  are seeking an enthusiastic and energetic sales-driven Portfolio Manager in Pretoria to drive asset finance and business growth, maximize profitability, and strengthen client relationships. Responsibilities include managing a pipeline of clients and deals, conducting financial assessments, structuring agreements, and ensuring successful transaction execution.

You need to be able to engage comfortably with clients, Suppliers and Dealers, to originate asset finance transactions for Merchant West.

Responsibilities
* Play a pivotal role in driving asset finance business growth, maximising profitability, and fostering strong client relationships through effective new business development, and strategic cross-selling eff We approach every day with a – client focus approach
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities within specific sector (Aviation, Transport, Technology, Renewable Energy, Yellow Metal, )
* Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of potential clients (and/ or suppliers where applicable) and deals
* Analyse market trends to capitalise on emerging opportunities
* Conduct thorough assessments of client needs and propose tailored financial solutions
* Collaborate with internal teams to structure deals that meet both client requirements and company objectives
* Negotiate terms and conditions with clients to ensure mutually beneficial agreements
* Evaluate the financial viability of proposed deals and assess their potential impact on overall profitability
* Ensure timely and efficient execution of new business transactions from initiation to closure
* Develop strong relationships with existing clients to uncover additional business needs and promote complementary products or services from within the Merchant West Group (Lending & Advisory products)
* Measure quality of leads provide to other business units within the Merchant West Group of Quality rather that a quantity approach requiredQualifications
* BCom degree with Finance and/or Mathematics, Accounting as a subject(s)
Experience
* 2+ years’ experience in an asset finance sales position with a financial background/ solution selling
* Relationships and client/supplier & dealer base within the sector Skills
* Ability to understand and analyse financial statements
* Familiar with National Credit Act
* Ability to structure asset finance deals
* Understand the asset finance process
