COMPANYDESCRIPTION:
Our client provides payroll solutions to various sized companies and is looking for an Assistant to National Group Payroll Manager to join their team. This position will be based in Pretoria East.
JOB DESCRIPTION /
PURPOSE:
MAIN
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the National Group Payroll Manager with full payroll processing function
- Process payroll on Sage VIP Premier accurately and timeously
- Prepare and process Nedbank payments and related banking transactions
- Assist with payroll reconciliations and month‑end payroll procedures
- Ensure compliance with payroll legislation and company policies
- Prepare payroll reports as required by management
- Assist the CFO with tax year‑end payroll reports (excluding SARS submissions)
- Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll and employee information
- Provide payroll support during peak periods, especially month‑end
- Work remotely when required during month‑end processing
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Relevant Payroll / Finance / Accounting qualification – advantageous
- Sage VIP Premier certification – advantageous
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Minimum 5 years experience working on Sage VIP Premier (non‑negotiable)
- Proven experience in payroll processing
- Experience processing Nedbank payments
- Experience assisting with payroll reporting and tax year‑end preparation
- Previous experience supporting senior finance management (advantageous)
- Strong numerical and financial accuracy
- High attention to detail
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation
- Ability to work under pressure, especially during month‑end
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Strong communication skills
- Computer literate (MS Office, especially Excel)
- Own reliable transport
- Mature, stable and reliable individual
