- BHS, Ndip or BTech in Clinical Technology - Specialized category Critical Care. Registration with the HPCSA as a Clinical Technologist - Specialized category Critical care. Grade 1:
Registration with the HPCSA as a Clinical Technologist in Critical care (Supervised/Independent/Private practice). Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as a Clinical Technologist in Critical Care in respect of South African qualified employees. Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as a Clinical Technologist in Critical care in respect of South African qualified employees.
A Professional person with integrity and ability to perform under pressure, independently and in a team. Self‑driven and result orientated. Good communication, report writing, presentation and interpersonal skills. Computer literate, honest, patient, hardworking and reliable. Willingness to train students and present lectures.
- Provision of specialized Critical care diagnostic and investigative services within Critical care unit and according to SBAH's protocol i.e. Mechanical ventilation, ROTEM, Cellsaving, Administration of Notric Oxide etc. Willing to learn and perform new procedures. Willing to perform overtime and standby. Present topics in academic meetings. Teach and perform practical assessments with students. Monitor and maintain equipment. Maintain good infection control.
Order stock and manage, engage in Continuous Professional Development. Exposure to ECMO would be an added advantage.
