The Solutions Consultant will present Sage Payroll's solution offerings and architecture to prospects and customers. The Solutions Consultant will be responsible for evoking confidence in Sage Payroll functionality and technology infrastructure and removing all technical objections in the sales cycle as well as will uncover business requirements, develop a solution and effectively demonstrate Sage Payroll solutions that address customer requirements.
We are seeking a technically skilled and customer-focused Presales Engineer to support our software sales team. You will work closely with sales, product, and engineering teams to understand customer requirements, deliver compelling product demonstrations, and provide technical guidance throughout the sales cycle.
Location - 3 days per week out of our Johannesburg office.
• Partner with Corporate and Channel Sales teams to identify customer needs and recommend best-fit Sage Payroll solutions.
• Deliver compelling product demonstrations, proof-of-concepts (POCs), and executive-level presentations tailored to client requirements.
• Analyse customer business processes and align Sage Payroll capabilities to solve real business challenges.
• Articulate the value and benefits of Sage Payroll solutions to stakeholders at all levels, including line-of-business leaders and C-suite executives.
• Lead technical responses to RFPs, RFIs, SOWs, and other documentation requests.
• Develop and maintain high-quality demo environments, presales tools, and customer use cases.
• Support the creation of persuasive sales proposals and technical documentation.
• Provide feedback to Product and Development teams to influence enhancements based on market needs.
• Collaborate across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, performance-driven sales environment.
• Contribute to achieving quarterly and annual revenue targets alongside Sales Representatives.
What You Bring
Experience & Expertise
• 4+ years’ experience as a Presales Engineer, Implementation Consultant, or in Customer Support for accounting, financial, or related software solutions.
• Demonstrable knowledge of accounting principles and business processes.
• Strong understanding of SaaS, cloud platforms, enterprise applications, APIs, XML, and web services.
• Proven track record of increasing deal size, accelerating sales cycles, and achieving quota targets.
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Skills & Attributes
• Exceptional presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to confidently engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Ability and willingness to travel for onsite visits to Business Partners and customers.
