Junior Data Scientist

Junior Data Scientist job vacancy in Pretoria.

We are looking for a motivated Junior Data Scientist to join our Data Analytics team in Menlyn, Pretoria. This opportunity is ideal for a recent graduate, Honours student, Master’s student, or early-career professional with strong Python skills and an interest in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Data Analytics.

Salary: R25,000 – R45,000 per month.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain machine learning models.
• Manage and optimise data pipelines.
• Analyse large datasets and generate actionable insights.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions.
• Support AI and analytics initiatives across the organisation.

Minimum Requirements:

• Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Good SQL knowledge.
• Understanding of machine learning concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills.

Desired Experience &

Qualification:

• Honours or Master’s degree (completed or in progress).
• Experience with Pandas, Num Py, Scikit‑Learn, Tensor Flow, PyTorch, or similar tools.
• Personal projects, Git Hub portfolio, internships, or practical AI/ML experience.
