We’re looking for an Operations Engineer who thrivesin the world of enterprise application support, production troubleshooting,integrations and monitoring.

You’ll be part of a global IT environment, supporting business-critical applications and helping ensure that customers and business users experience smooth, reliable and efficient digital services.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys getting hands-on with Java applications, APIs, SQL, logs, monitoring platforms and production incidents, while working closely with development,infrastructure and business teams.

• Monitorapplication health using Grafana and Loki.
• Investigateproduction incidents and identify what went wrong.
• Analyseapplication logs, exceptions and stack traces.
• Performtransaction tracing to follow issues from start to finish.
• Conduct initial Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and document findings.
• Troubleshootfront-end, back-end and integration failures.
• Take ownership of incidents from investigation through to resolution.
• Support Incident, Problem and Change Management processes.
• Handlemajor incidents and escalations when things get serious.
• TrackSLAs and help ensure production services remain reliable.
• Workwith Level 3 development and infrastructure teams when deeper technicalintervention is required.

• Troubleshoot REST APIs and web services.
• Analyse and validate JSON payloads.
• Investigateintegration failures and message-processing issues.
• Support reconciliation, retries and failed transactions.
• Helpkeep integrations between systems running smoothly.

• Support enterprise Java applications and JVM environments.
• PerformSQL queries and database validation.
• Investigateissues involving DNS, HTTPS, firewalls and load balancers.
• Troubleshootauthentication technologies such as SSO, LDAP and Active Directory.
• Assist with releases, deployments and production changes.
• Where required, perform code debugging, code fixes and deeper root-cause analysis.

• Createand maintain standard operating procedures, runbooks and technical documentation.
• Workaccording to ITIL and operational best practices.
• Contribute to operational excellence initiatives.
• Identify recurring problems and help reduce incidents before they happen.

• 5–10+years of enterprise application support experience.
• Strong experience supporting Java applications.
• Production support and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with REST APIs, JSON and web services.
• Strong SQL querying and database troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with application logs, exceptions and stack traces.
• Hands-on experience with Grafana and Loki or similarmonitoring/observability platforms.
• Understanding of JVM monitoring and analysis.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals including DNS, HTTPS, firewalls and loadbalancers.
• Understanding of SSO, LDAP and Active Directory.
• Solid understanding of ITIL, Incident,Problem and Change Management.
