OpenShift Engineer

We're hiring a Senior Open Shift Platform Engineer - Web Sphere Modernization for one of our major global technology partners. This role will focus on driving large-scale application modernization, migrating legacy Web Sphere workloads to Open Shift, and delivering secure, cloud-native platform solutions within a highly regulated enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, deployment, and operation of Red Hat Open Shift platforms
• Drive Web Sphere Application Server modernization and containerization initiatives
• Implement Git Ops and CI/CD pipelines using ArgoCD, Git Hub Actions, and related tools
• Develop Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform and Ansible
• Support platform reliability through performance tuning, monitoring, and SRE practices
• Collaborate with application, architecture, and stakeholder teams to deliver successful migrations
• Ensure platform security, governance, and compliance standards are met
• Mentor engineers and promote Open Shift best practices across delivery teams

Key Requirements

• Strong experience with Red Hat Open Shift and Kubernetes administration
• Expertise in Git Ops, CI/CD, Terraform, and Ansible
• Hands-on experience modernizing and containerizing enterprise Java/Web Sphere applications
• Knowledge of observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Thanos, or Datadog
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or IBM Cloud
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Background working within large-scale enterprise or regulated environments

Nice to Have

• IBM Transformation Advisor or Web Sphere Liberty migration experience
• IBM Cloud Paks and Open Shift middleware exposure
• Kafka and event-driven architecture experience
• Python or Java automation skills
• VMware and hybrid cloud experience
• Red Hat Open Shift, Kubernetes (CKA), Terraform, or cloud certifications
