About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with a specialization in Cloud Infrastructure to join their dedicated on-site team in Pretoria. You will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining the scalable and reliable cloud environments that support the company's critical applications and services. This role demands a deep understanding of cloud architecture, infrastructure as code, and automation.

Design, implement, and manage scalable, highly available, and secure cloud infrastructure solutions on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP. Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Cloud Formation. Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated application deployment and infrastructure provisioning. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot infrastructure issues, and implement proactive solutions to ensure optimal uptime and reliability.
Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of applications into the cloud environment. Implement robust security measures and best practices across all cloud infrastructure components.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Minimum of 6 years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on cloud infrastructure and operations. Proven expertise in designing and managing cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Power Shell.
Strong understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and networking principles.
