Control Room Officer

Our client, a leading logistics and transport organisation, is looking for a vigilant and detail-oriented Control Room Officer to join their operations team.

• Monitor vehicle movements using fleet tracking and telematics systems
• Track deliveries and provide real-time updates to operational teams and customers
• Identify route deviations, delays, and unauthorised stops, escalating where necessary
• Respond promptly to vehicle breakdowns, emergencies, and security incidents
• Coordinate with drivers, transport controllers, and branch operations to minimise downtime
• Maintain accurate incident logs and operational records
• Monitor driver compliance with company procedures and transport regulations
• Assist with fleet utilisation reporting and operational performance tracking
• Escalate operational risks and provide timely communication to relevant stakeholders
• Support continuous improvements in fleet monitoring and control room processes

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a transport control room, fleet monitoring, logistics, or dispatch environment
• Experience working with vehicle tracking and telematics systems
• Sound understanding of transport operations and fleet coordination
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and fleet management systems
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays where required
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to remain calm under pressure
