About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Category Procurement Manager to oversee a specific range of goods and services within their procurement division in Pretoria . This strategic role involves developing category-specific sourcing strategies, managing key supplier relationships, and driving cost savings and value creation. You will lead cross-functional teams to support sourcing initiatives and ensure that procurement activities meet the highest standards of quality, ethics, and efficiency.
This position requires a deep understanding of market dynamics within your assigned categories and the ability to influence stakeholders effectively.
- Develop and execute category sourcing strategies that align with business objectives and deliver significant cost savings and value.
- Manage end-to-end procurement processes for assigned categories, including market analysis, supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management.
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers to foster innovation and ensure reliable supply.
- Lead cross-functional teams on sourcing projects, providing expertise and guidance.
- Monitor category performance against KPIs and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Identify and mitigate risks within the supply chain for the assigned categories.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Master's degree preferred.
- 5-8 years of experience in strategic sourcing and category management within a complex organization.
- Demonstrated success in negotiating complex contracts and achieving substantial cost reductions.
- Strong analytical skills and expertise in spend analysis and market intelligence.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities.
