About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Aircraft Structures Technician specializing in sheet metal work to join their hangar operations in Pretoria . This position is essential for maintaining the structural integrity of aircraft, performing repairs and modifications to airframes. You will be working with a variety of metals and composites, using specialized tools and techniques to ensure all structural work meets the stringent safety and airworthiness standards demanded by the aviation industry.

This is a hands-on role for a craftsman who takes pride in precision and reliability, contributing directly to the safety and performance of the aircraft.

• Perform repairs, modifications, and fabrication of aircraft structural components using sheet metal techniques.
• Read and interpret structural repair manuals, engineering drawings , and blueprints.
• Inspect structures for damage, corrosion, and wear, determining the extent of repairs needed.
• Apply appropriate sealing, bonding, and riveting techniques to ensure structural integrity.
• Work with a variety of aircraft materials including aluminum alloys, composites, and stainless steel.
• Ensure all work performed is documented accurately and meets airworthiness and company standards.

• Proven experience as an Aircraft Structures Technician with a strong emphasis on sheet metal fabrication and repair.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments and sheet metal tools (e.g., rivet guns, shears, forming equipment).
• Ability to read and understand complex engineering drawings and repair schemes.
• Familiarity with different types of aircraft materials and their properties.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures for working with metal and hazardous materials.
• Certification or trade qualification in aircraft structures maintenance is highly desirable.
