SR Consultants is currently recruiting for an experienced Expeditor to support a large-scale SMPP mining project in Africa.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that fabrication, procurement, and supplier activities are progressing according to schedule, with a strong focus on maintaining project timelines, monitoring supplier performance, and ensuring all components are delivered in the correct sequence and within required time frames.
60km of piping
7,000 tons of structural steelwork
5,000 tons of mechanical and platework
Key Responsibilities- Monitor fabrication progress and production schedules
- Follow up with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure deadlines are met
- Expedite materials, components, and documentation
- Coordinate with procurement, fabrication, and project teams
- Identify project delays and proactively resolve bottlenecks
- Track manufacturing progress against project schedules
- Ensure all milestones are achieved according to programme requirements
- Compile and maintain progress reports and tracking schedules
- Conduct supplier visits and follow-ups where required
Matric Certificate
Fluent in Afrikaans and English (spoken and written)
Own reliable vehicle and valid driver's licence
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Previous experience in steel fabrication, piping fabrication, SMPP, engineering, manufacturing, or related industries
Understanding of fabrication processes and production scheduling
Strong planning, organisational, and communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
Immediate availability highly preferred
Project-based opportunity with potential for future project assignments
