- Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level.
- Basic qualification accredited by the South African Nursing Council (SANC) under Government Notice 425 (Diploma/degree in Nursing) or equivalent that allows registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse.
- A minimum of 4 years appropriate, recognizable experience as a Professional Nurse after registration with the SANC in General Nursing.
- Strong leadership, good communication, and sound interpersonal skills. Verification of experience required.
- For PN‑B2:
Post‑basic nursing qualification at least one year accredited under SANC Government Notice No R212 in the relevant speciality, and at least 14 years of nursing experience after registration as a Professional Nurse. - At least 10 years of the period after obtaining the one‑year post‑basic qualification must be appropriate experience.
- Post‑basic qualification in Nursing Education and Post Graduate Diploma in Midwifery or Child Nursing Science registered with SANC.
- Current annual SANC certificate.
- Computer literate (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint).
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Good communication skills, compassion, teamwork, report writing skills, and a passion for training and education.
- Provision of optimal, holistic specialised nursing care with set standards within a professional/legal framework.
- Effective utilisation of human, material, and service resources.
- Participation in training and research.
- Supporting Nursing Services and maintaining professional growth, ethical standards, and development of self and subordinates.
- Planning and facilitating a professional development program for the maternity or paediatric department.
- Collaboration with NEIs to maintain accreditation of both institutions.
- Responsibility for placement of students in collaboration with the NEIs.
- Execution and participation in in‑service training programmes (formal and informal).
- Supporting all categories of staff in the hospital.
- Monitoring and supervision of general nursing care during facilitation in wards.
- Relieving in patient care office according to institutional needs.
