Job Title:
Clinical Facilitator (Nursing Education)
Location: Pretoria, Gauteng Province
Reporting To: Nursing Education Manager / Clinical Training Manager
Role OverviewThe Clinical Facilitator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering clinical education and training to nursing staff, ensuring high standards of patient care. The role requires a strong background in nursing education and practical clinical experience within a Mediclinic environment. The incumbent will bridge theory and practice, promoting evidence‑based nursing care and continuous professional development.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Education & Training- Facilitate and deliver structured clinical training programmes to nursing staff in line with organisational and regulatory requirements
- Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing education programmes and learning materials
- Conduct orientation and induction programmes for newly appointed nursing staff
- Ensure compliance with Mediclinic clinical standards, protocols, and policies
- Assess clinical competencies of nursing staff and provide feedback and developmental support
- Identify training needs through skills audits, performance reviews, and incident analysis
- Support ongoing professional development and mentoring of nurses
- Provide hands‑on clinical guidance in the ward environment
- Promote best practices, evidence‑based care, and patient safety standards
- Assist with implementation of quality improvement initiatives
- Ensure all training aligns with SANC regulations and Mediclinic standards
- Maintain accurate training records and competency documentation
- Support accreditation and audit processes
- Work closely with Unit Managers, HR, and Education Departments
- Facilitate interdisciplinary learning where required
- Participate in meetings related to clinical education and quality improvement
- Diploma or Degree in Nursing (General, Community, Psychiatry)
- Postgraduate qualification in Nursing Education (essential)
- Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
- Minimum 3–5 years’ clinical nursing experience
- Proven experience in nursing education, training, or facilitation
- Prior training and/or working experience within Mediclinic (essential)
- Strong knowledge of clinical nursing practices and healthcare regulations
- Excellent facilitation, coaching, and mentoring skills
- Ability to design and deliver effective training programmes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Competency in clinical assessment and evaluation
- Good organisational and administrative abilities
- Patient-centered care
- Leadership and influence
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving
- Attention to detail and quality orientation
- Adaptability and continuous learning mindset
- Experience in private healthcare sector
- Familiarity with Mediclinic systems and processes
