About the Role
Our client is seeking a qualified Hygiene Officer to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation in their food production facility located in Pretoria. This role is essential for maintaining food safety compliance and preventing contamination throughout the production process. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring hygiene programs, conducting inspections, and training staff on food safety protocols.
While the role requires significant on-site presence for inspections and training, some administrative and reporting tasks may be performed remotely, offering a hybrid work arrangement. Your expertise will be crucial in safeguarding product integrity and consumer health.
- Develop and implement comprehensive food safety and hygiene management systems (e.g., HACCP, GMP).
- Conduct regular hygiene audits and inspections of production areas, equipment, and personnel practices.
- Monitor and verify cleaning and sanitization procedures, ensuring effectiveness against microbial contamination.
- Investigate hygiene-related incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Train production staff on proper hygiene, sanitation, and food safety procedures.
- Maintain detailed records of audits, training, and corrective actions for regulatory compliance.
- Proven experience as a Hygiene Officer or similar role in the food industry.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP principles, and GMP guidelines.
- Experience in conducting audits and implementing corrective actions in a production environment.
