The Laboratory Technician is mainly responsible for conducting chemical, physical and microbial tests on raw, in-process and finished materials, while ensuring accurate interpretation and reporting of results. The role also supports the Quality Assurance Manager with laboratory validations and investigations, ensuring compliance with GLP and GMP.
Other duties will include, but not be limited to:- Scientific report writing
- Investigation and solving deviations reported form quality control tests
- Communication with external laboratories/service providers in terms of routine and non-routine tests to be performed.
- Grade 12 with N3-level maths and science
- An N4 qualification in a food/laboratory-related field (example Foodtech diploma)
- Be able to work independently and with a team.
- Good communication skills (telephonic and email)
- Above-average knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
