This role focuses on pioneering research in agricultural biotechnology to develop sustainable farming practices. The researcher will work on projects involving genetic modification, biopesticides, and soil health optimization. The position requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and engagement with local farmers to implement field trials.

• Conduct laboratory and field research on biotechnological applications for crop improvement
• Develop and test biopesticides and biofertilizers for sustainable agriculture
• Analyze soil and plant samples using molecular biology techniques
• Collaborate with agronomists and environmental scientists on integrated farming solutions
• Prepare technical reports and publish findings in scientific journals

• Expertise in genetic engineering and molecular biology
• Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., R, Python)
• Experience with field trials and experimental design
• Strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement
• Knowledge of South African agricultural policies and regulations

• Master’s Degree in Biotechnology, Agronomy, or Life Sciences
• PhD preferred but not mandatory
