Overview

The Online Salesperson / Web Sales Consultant plays a key role in driving the store’s digital revenue by managing, marketing, and selling products through online platforms. This role requires a tech‑savvy, detail‑oriented individual with strong customer service skills and a passion for digital retail. The successful candidate will be responsible for uploading product listings, responding to online enquiries, processing sales, and ensuring an excellent customer experience from first contact to delivery or collection.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Photograph, list, and accurately describe products on online sales platforms (e.g. E‑commerce, Marketplace, and internal systems)
  • Manage all online enquiries, messages, and sales leads in a timely, professional manner
  • Process online sales and ensure seamless handover to dispatch/collection teams
  • Maintain high‑quality product listings with accurate pricing, descriptions, and condition ratings
  • Monitor stock levels and ensure online inventory matches in‑store inventory
  • Update listings, remove sold items, and ensure online pages remain current
  • Assist with handling returns, customer queries, and online service issues
  • Drive online sales targets through excellent service and proactive engagement
  • Ensure compliance with store policies, safety protocols, and brand guidelines
  • Work closely with retail staff to coordinate stock movement and product readiness

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Experience in retail, online sales, or e‑commerce
  • Strong digital literacy: comfortable with online platforms, photography, smartphones, and PCs
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Honest, reliable, and able to work independently
  • Basic understanding of pricing, product condition assessment, and inventory management
