About the job Solar Solution Sales Specialist - External
We are looking for a seasoned, technically credible B2B sales professional to sell large-scale solar energy and related solutions to developers, engineers, architects, technical CEOs, and large commercial landowners. This is an enterprise-level role — think shopping centres, industrial estates, logistics hubs, large farms, hospitals, and mines —
not residential or small commercial
- Battery energy storage systems (BESS) and hybrid power solutions
- Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS), PPAs, and CAPEX/lease structures
- Smart energy monitoring and O&M agreements
- 7+ years in senior B2B / solution sales — energy, engineering, construction, or built-environment preferred
- Track record closing complex, high-value deals (R5m+ per project) with long sales cycles
- Solid working knowledge of solar PV, BESS, NERSA regulations & grid-tie frameworks (NRS 097, SSEG)
- Ability to engage credibly with engineers, architects & technical executives — and translate that into clear business cases for CFOs and boards
- Experience structuring PPAs, EaaS models, and CAPEX/OPEX trade-offs
- Self-directed hunter — you build pipeline, you close, and you manage relationships for the long term
- Degree / Diploma in Engineering, Business, or equivalent; SESSA certification advantageous
- Valid driver's licence | Willingness to travel nationally
