As a Backend Engineer, you'll play a key role in building and evolving the platforms that power millions of customer experiences worldwide.

Working within a high-performance engineering team, you'll design, develop and optimise scalable backend services while helping drive the transition from legacy systems to modern microservices architecture.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you'll have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies in a fast-paced, high-traffic environment.

• Design, build and enhance backend services using C# and Go (Golang)
• Develop scalable, resilient and high-performing systems
• Support the migration of legacy C# applications to modern Go-based microservices
• Troubleshoot production issues and optimise system performance
• Contribute to the evolution of our microservices architecture
• Apply modern engineering principles, including Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and Hexagonal Architecture
• Refactor and modernise existing services
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system design, reliability and maintainability

• Experience developing backend applications using C# and/or Go (Golang)
• Strong knowledge of SQL databases (MSSQL/PostgreSQL)
• Experience working with No
  
  SQL databases such as MongoDB
• Exposure to messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
• Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems
• Understanding of CI/CD practices and tools such as Azure Dev Ops or Git Hub Actions
• Experience supporting high-availability, high-performance production environments
• Strong problem-solving, communication and collaboration

• Experience with in online gaming, sports betting or other regulated industries
• Knowledge of high-throughput, low-latency systems
• Experience with observability tools, logging, monitoring and tracing
• Experience with performance, load or stress testing
• Understanding of secure coding practices
• Experience contributing to large-scale platform modernisation or migration initiatives
