Our client is seeking a talented and dedicated Computer Vision Engineer to join their innovative team based in Pretoria . This role is critical in developing and implementing advanced computer vision algorithms for autonomous systems, perception, and robotic applications. You will work on cutting-edge projects that involve real-time image processing, object detection, tracking, and scene understanding. As part of a collaborative engineering group, you will contribute to the entire lifecycle of product development, from research and algorithm design to implementation and testing.
We are looking for an engineer who is passionate about visual perception and eager to apply their skills to build intelligent systems in a hands-on, in-office environment.
- Design, develop, and optimize computer vision algorithms for tasks such as object detection, segmentation, tracking, and 3D reconstruction.
- Implement and test vision systems using C++ and Python in real-time applications.
- Work with sensor data, including cameras and LiDAR, to develop robust perception capabilities for autonomous platforms.
- Integrate computer vision modules with other system components, including planning and control algorithms.
- Conduct performance analysis and benchmarking of vision algorithms, identifying areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to ensure optimal sensor integration and data acquisition.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of professional experience in computer vision development.
- Strong programming skills in C++ and Python, with experience in relevant libraries (OpenCV, PCL, Tensor Flow, PyTorch).
- Solid understanding of fundamental computer vision concepts and machine learning techniques.
- Experience with sensor fusion and calibration is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, on-site team environment in Pretoria .
